28-Apr-07 - Neil and Kates Wedding

We thought we'd make a weekend of this glorious event so went up Friday afternoon to the Premier Travel Inn in Evesham. Great hotel for the money, shame about the poo smell and road noise out the front. Anyway, we went into town in the evening and struggled to find anywhere to eat and then drink. Evesham seems to suffer from a severe chav problem, which appears to have been made worse by the lack of any normal 18 to 25 year olds. Anyway, we eventually found a good pub, Ye Olde Red Horse. After that, we went back to the hotel, where another hotel guest stole our door key from our door (sure they found it funny), but we didn't and swapped rooms.

Saturday Morning came, breakfast was worth noting, purely because of the awful sausages that we were served. Still, I expertly guided us to the church even though the road we were on wasn't on the map. A delightful service, however I couldn't stop laughing through the first hymn after singing out refrain. After this, Nikki and I went to the dinner thing at the hotel, however I didn't realise we'd be outside watching photo's getting taken for 90 minutes, I wanted free booze, I eventually got 2 glasses of wine, I was expecting bottles, but then maybe this was a precaution to stop my bad behavior after the stag do! The others turned up later and we proceeded to get pretty drunk, the best man, Simon 'Digby' Priane got leathered, I have a video of me dragging him to the floor leaving him incapacitated! Ali-T also caught the bouquet, a sign that he's ready to accept a proposal from the right man?? The night was cut short at the hotel after Hayley appeared to be injured in a bundle, which I got blamed for as I always do when something goes wrong.

Sunday was cool, we went to Stratford-on-Avon. They really appear to be milking the shakespeare thing to the max, pictures of the chap everywhere. Anyway, whilst there, we hired a 12 man rowing (4 rowing at a time), which was a great laugh, however, women really do seem to struggle at it :o
